Architectural ServicesOscar Palacios, AIA, has been designing innovative and aesthetically beautiful spaces and structures in northern New Mexico for thirty years. Inspired by the local historic building styles, his work to date blends form and function with an eye toward the movement of light, the smooth, rounded transitions of traditional earthen buildings and the natural environment in which they rest. Palacios is a true designer and artist, who's hand drafted sketches are fit for the frame. Some of his more prominent projects in Taos include Cid’s Food Market, and both Centinel Bank locations. He has also designed for many other commercial and residential projects. View the portfolio to see his work.
Palacios was appointed to the New Mexico Board of Examiners for Architects by Governor Gary E. Johnson to serve on two committees; Rules and Regulations and Finance and Operations. He has served on the American Institute of Architects (AIA) State Executive Board and was president of the Santa Fe Chapter of the AIA for two terms. His past public service work has included: architectural consulting in Sertolovo, Russia, judging AIA Southern Colorado Design awards and Santa Fe’s Parade of Homes, serving as board member for the Northern New Mexico Architectural Tour and the Town of Taos Historic Review Board.
